As a lot of you might remember (you should remember this, it doesn’t happen too often), Seagate’s CEO Bill Watkins mentioned how his company, Seagate, helped people buy more crap and watch porn. Well, unlike a lot of readers, this statement has offended some Seagate employees and possibly even clients, partners and other parties critical to Seagate. As a result, Watkins sent a memo to its employees apologizing for the statement.

I don’t know how to take this. Should I praise the guy for openly speaking in a PR driven corporate world, or should I be rendered speechless by the level of political correctness that is now needed?
