Here’s an interesting column I read on iTWire about Zune, and why people hate (for the lack of a better word) it. The author presents a number of interesting tidbits that I think proves his point.

“Anyway, as I said, I have an up to date box but the Zune software refused to install. Guess why? Because I tried to download it using Firefox, my browser of choice. Luckily for me an iTWire reader had the same problem. So Microsoft wants to alienate about 13% of browser users - actually about 40% in Germany and more than 20% in Australia - who use Firefox and force them to use IE 7 just so they can download the Zune software.”

Ouch! Those crazy old lunatics in Redmond were begging to be criticized. I sometimes wonder if Microsoft is out to get more negative than positive publicity. They must have a new definition of marketing and PR. Anyways, before I get too washed away with this topic; I suggest you go read the column.
