minoxgold.PNGWe have seen a gold plated RAZR from Dolce&Gabbana, in addition to a number of accessories. Therefore, the next step in gold plated consumer electronics would logically be a digital camera.

Other than a 10-megapixel powerful sensor for high quality photos, 10.4x digital zoom, 2.4-inch TFT display, voice recording capability, removable Secure Digital storage capacity of up to 2GB and USB 2.0 connectivity, the camera looks exceptional.

The DC1101 is coated with 24 Carat pure gold and 10x 2mm diamonds covering the exterior of the lens. To top it all, the camera is handmade for every order and treated as a piece of art. Yeah, no kidding!

Needless to say, the specifications are significant enough to make this is a high-end consumer camera, so the price would definitely be up on the price range, but that’s the least of our worries, right? The significant portion of the camera - gold covering, 10x diamonds and handcrafted - the DC1101 is sure to come with a hefty price tag. I don’t think anyone would be carrying this beauty everyday in their pocket just for that one memorable moment. If anything, you might be scheduling your moments around this camera. Talk about capturing predefined moments. Beat that Kodak! This is what I call revolutionizing the concept.

That looks ridiculous.

DJ McManus:

Hmm...I sort of like it from a purely looks perspective. Of course, if I ever purchase this, I would never use it. It will be more of a techie display in the living room. :)

Take care,
