cowonf1.PNGCall me crazy, but what in the world is this? Generally, Cowon makes pretty decent music players, but I must say, this one looks so out of place and last century, it’s almost sad. While I understand the desperate need to innovate in this iPod-laden world, it doesn’t mean Cowon has to go back to the last century to come up with a new design that’s not even creative. In fact, if anything, it’s downright hopeless. Cowon: so, what happened? Did your engineering team left and your executive team had to finish the design?

Other than the age-old design, it’s a music + video player with support for MP3, FLAC, Ogg Vorbis, WMA, WAV and WMA. The device also supports JPEG pictures, USB 2.0 connectivity, 22 hours of battery life, flash storage capacity (2GB initial storage), 1.3-inch display size, 128x160 resolution, FM radio, voice recording, line-in recording and lithium-ion rechargeable battery.

The review is not yet available, but I bet the BlackBerry Pearl copycat design alone would be the downfall of this device.

Pricing and availability is unknown.
