luxv3i_004.PNGYes, yes, I know, it’s another post on the luxurious RAZR V3i cell phone. I apologize for beating this topic so much. As some of you realized after reading our initial entries, we never posted a price of the unit, which we generally try to do whenever possible. Today, we hunted around and finally got an official price.

The gold RAZR V3i will retail for $600 and will be unlocked.

The $600 price tag isn’t as steep as I had initially thought. Considering the original price of the V3i when it first appeared (now you can find it for free at select service providers with a binding contract), $600 isn’t bad at all. Oh yeah, and it’s not as luxurious as the pictures made us believe.

The idea of unlocking the device is a smart move on Motorola’s part. You wouldn’t want to tie down customers to a single service provider after they have shelled $600. All in all, this sounds like a win-win deal for everyone -- unless of course you value quality a little too much.
