digitalcowboy_001.PNGDigital Cowboy, a Japanese company, has released a new MP3 player with radio capabilities that’s water resistant. It’s based on flash storage technology and carries 256MB of onboard memory. You can also increase the capacity of the device to 1GB with a SD card. Digital Cowboy supports MP3 and WMA audio formats. It doesn’t support WMA DRM, however. The water resistant player connects directly to the PC via USB 2.0 for fast transfer speeds and effortless connectivity.

The only thing going for this particular device is its water resistant shell. Other than that, the unit is fairly limited in features and technical specifications. There are water resistant covers that are available for iPod and other portable audio players, and thus we don’t see a reason for anyone to opt for this particular unit. Besides, it looks downright tacky.
