Sony is going back to its roots and simplicity with a new USB Walkman, the NW-E005.

The E005 has a very USB stick-like appeal with a considerably similar design. Sony’s new line of MP3 players support AAC audio format in addition to their standard offerings. They come in three flavors – 512MB, 1GB and 2GB – that are designated with their own model names. For instance, E002, E003 and E005 are associated with storage capacities of 512MB, 1GB and 2GB, respectively.

In addition, the new series are packed with a few accessories including a waterproof pouch and a shock resistant shell.

The exterior of the device sports a display, standard controls and a Home key. Again, it’s a very simple design that should be available at an affordable price in 5x colors.
